Acknowledging and celebrating both individual and team success is important at Comal ISD. That's why the district celebrates teachers, principals and teaching teams with an annual celebration.

Annually, high school students from across the United States participate in a leadership program designed to teach them about citizenship and government. Students from Comal ISD learned the importance of getting involved at Boys State and Girls State.

A Comal ISD student has become the first student in Texas to win a nationwide contest for his original artwork. His illustration will soon grace the cover of a curriculum catalog.

At its regularly scheduled meeting Tuesday, the Comal ISD Board of Trustees approved a 7-cent decrease in the district’s tax rate, lowering it from 1.39 to $1.32. The new rate goes into effect immediately.

All month, campuses across the district have hosted campaigns to raise not only money, but also awareness of childhood cancer. One of the main reasons the district is so invested in raising awareness is because of students like the five featured here who continue to fight and show amazing courage and strength every day.
