Two Comal ISD artists were among the top 25 finalists for the annual San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo Western Art Contest this year which had more than 600 entries.

Students and staff members throughout Comal ISD spread some holiday joy to those in need this season by making their wishes come true with toys, food and more.

For the second year in a row, a Comal ISD art student received the title of Champion in the sculpture category for the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo Western Art Contest and received a $10,000 scholarship. This year's winner is Madeleine 'Madz" Patten from Hill Country College Preparatory High School.

Comal ISD has announced Shane Land as the principal for its newest middle school campus, Bulverde Middle School, which opens in August 2024.

This year marked the first year for Comal ISD to host a Christmas Card Contest. Winners in three categories, elementary, middle and high school, were announced with surprise campus visits to Goodwin Fraizer Elementary, Church Hill Middle and Davenport High School.

A student from each campus has been selected as the Superintendent Student of the 3rd Nine Weeks. These students serve as a role models and demonstrate character traits such as integrity, respect, responsibility and perseverance.

Comal ISD is hosting four high school student immunization clinics on Thursday, March 7, and Friday, March 8.

Honorees for Superintendent Student of the 2nd Nine Weeks have been announced. This award is given to one student per campus who serves as a role model and demonstrates integrity, respect, responsibility and perseverance.

In a come-from-behind victory against the defending state champion, the Davenport High School volleyball team won the UIL Class 4A state championship and made school history November 18.

A three-member student-marketing team from Canyon Lake High School advanced to the semifinals of the National FFA Marketing Plan contest earlier this month.
