Comal ISD Board Approves 2026-2027 Pay Increase

May 29, 2026 -  The Comal ISD Board of Trustees approved a 3 percent midpoint salary increase for all Comal ISD employees for the 2026-2027 school year.

“This decision reflects the appreciation we have for the dedication, hard work and professionalism that each employee brings to our district every day,” says Courtney Biasatti, president of the Comal ISD Board of Trustees. “This salary increase is one meaningful way we can express our gratitude. Each of our employees are critical to our success, and we do not take that for granted.”

The 3 percent increase will be calculated using the midpoint method. The midpoint represents the salary equivalent to approximately 15 years of experiences, or the middle of the range between pay (0 years of experience) and maximum pay (equivalent of 30 years of experience.)

This means that every employee within a pay grade receives the same dollar amount of increase, regardless of where they fall on the pay scale or time into their career.

In 2024, the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) conducted a compensation review of Comal ISD, and one of its recommendations was to move to a midpoint salary increase calculation. The primary reason behind this, was to provide a more equitable distribution of resources within each of the pay groups.
