April 30, 2025 - In the final athletic signing day events of the school year, 37 student athletes from Canyon High School, Canyon Lake High School, Davenport High School, Pieper High School and Smithson Valley High School signed National Letters of Intent to play the sport of their choice at the collegiate level.
Surrounded by family, teammates, coaches and friends, these athletes celebrated this milestone with balloons, hugs, handshakes and lots of photos. This day represents a culmination of years of early morning and late-night practices, lessons, wins and losses.
A few highlights from the last signing events include four athletes committing to play football for Schreiner University in its inaugural football season this fall, female wrestlers who will be among the first women to compete in that sport at the collegiate level and soccer players heading to England to play.
